I'm taking a bit of a blog hiatus, after my December 5th lay-off from work. Right now, I just need to spend a lot of time on job searching, applications, resumes, cover letters, networking, etc. As well as really brushing up some of my programming skills.
I will be back online after the new year.
I watched a really nice webcast this morning about Drupal, offered by O'Reilly Media.
Titled "Everything You Wanted to Know about Drupal but were Afraid to Ask," the webcast had an audience of over 300, from around the world, ranging from total novices to seasoned programmers and developers.
Much of the webcast focused on intro topics, however, I did get answers posed to questions I asked about customizing multisite installations, automatically creating pretty urls, and hosting podcasts.
One of my church pastors has asked me to rebuild our church web site.
The site is currently build on a Mac iWeb platform, and is maintained by one of our pastors. This makes it difficult for volunteers, like me, who don't use iWeb to help with the site. And doesn't seem to easily provide a consistent layout and architecture for the site.
I downloaded the free Bible reader application from YouVersion for my Blackberry Bold last night.
I only briefly played around with it after downloading, but the application seems nice, although quite basic. Unlike the Mobipocket reader, YouVersion's reader doesn't allow me to bookmark or store notations on particular pieces of text. It does, however, allow me to choose which Bible version I want (I like NKJ), and it provides a 1-year daily reading schedule.
